Our Honduran contingent, Mary K. Widener, Jerry Johnson and Joe Murphey, attend the ribbon-cutting for a new kitchen we helped fund for a school we are proud to sponsor through Lunches for Learning. The parents of these eager little scholars work hard in this kitchen every day to prepare the lunches we provide. All food is locally sourced, to further support the local economy. When our club fundraising can spark broad community involvement in the success of such wonderful, deserving people, it warms our hearts. (We should note that the team that built this kitchen was headed by this community’s pastor, who in addition to being a revered spiritual leader is also a superb mason.
